Outpatient assessments focus on accurate diagnosis, confirmatory special investigations, and devising multi-disciplinary treatment plans applicable to all illnesses of brain or mind.

Of special note is a truly multi-disciplinary approach where different Brain Specialists offer coordinated strategies covering all aspects of the illnesses in question.

As such we offer experts representing the fields of Liaison Psychiatry, clinical Neurology, applied Neurophysiology, diagnostic Neuroradiology, and all branches of Psychology including Neuropsychology.

Specialist tests available include pathological investigation (blood tests etc), brain imaging (MRI and CT scans), electro-physiology (EEG for epilepsy), muscle tests (EMG), nerve tests (NCS), detailed memory and attention deficit (ADD) assessment as well as options for remote screening and monitoring ( MediWeb).

For Patients with medical insurance, services are fully supported by Prescribed Minimum Benefit (PMB) programs which enable preventative strategies and cost-effective service delivery.

Daily emergency appointments are available and catered for, and systems are in place to facilitate emergency hospital admission when required. Again PMB support applies.

Various screening tests are offered for identification of illness complications, as well as for monitoring progress and improvement. As such NEUROCARE enjoys preferential access to numerous MEDIWEB modules (see www.mediweb.co.za).

Family and friends are always welcome to attend Outpatient appointments, pending on Patient approval. However, active participation and a team-approach to care is actively encouraged.

Outpatient visits offer an opportunity to fine-tune medication, receive therapeutic input, and on occasion receive support administratively (chronic medication application etc.).

In many instances NEUROCARE Clinic Consultation is the start to a whole new road to diagnosis, a deeper understanding of your illness, and treatment.

NEUROCARE Out-Patient Consultation take place daily at venues in and around Stellenbosch, and is currently coordinated from prominent offices at Stellenbosch Medi-Clinic, considered a national Center of Excellence.

Recent service expansion has necessitated additional full-time occupancy at Brandwacht Business Park adjacent to Stellenbosch Medi-Clinic.

Peripheral clinical activities takes place at Winelands Orthopedic Hospital (Stellenbosch), Busamed Hospital (Somerset West), Vergelegen Medi-Clinic (Somerset West), on Campus (Stellenbosch University), and weekly Home Support activities at a variety of Retirement Homes in Stellenbosch, Somerset West, Strand and Paarl.
